Is this a reason people play the Scandinavian Defense?

After the exchange of pawns if for some reason white decided to play Ke2 black could immediately checkmate white with Qe4.
Maybe that´s the reason. I always figured they just wanted a slightly worse position out of the opening, but this makes just as much sense.
@MetallicIntuition

The example only refutes the questionable 'delayed' Bongcloud. The proper way to play this is not to wait longer than necessary to bring the King into the attack: 1.e4 d5 2.Ke2 +/=
please look at chessbase database analysis ( white is winning )
After the devastating Scandinavian bongcloud maneuver (2.Ke2), the queen can hide behind the king, preparing an unexpected discovered check with good attacking chances for white. (;
