Just show hin the hilarious BS they do for money , and ask him if that is the perfect scenery for playing chess.

If your friend wants to pay for a subscription on chess.com, that's fine. You don't have to persuade him.

For me its only 100 points inflation (rapid)

Stronger players on Lichess. For classical I am in top 18% yet somehow in the top 4% on chess.com.

Having said that they do not have a classical category, their "rapid" encompasses everything from 10/0 to 60/0 so it is meaningless anyway.

Their forums contain a lot of inane, puerile stuff.

Thats 3 reasons why Lichess is better.

But chess.com has brighter colours and pretty graphics, it is the gayer site for sure.

Looks like you need to make some new friends!

Why are people still on this topic? Both are fine websites to play on.

Tell him that after you played 1000 games on lichess you get a T-shirt signed by Magnus Carlsen.
