How far can one get without coaches?

I seem to be improving in classical but whenever there is a time limit like in rapid blitz and bullet I am doing badly.
I want to improve in chess as much as I can without getting a coach. After what rating will it be impossible to improve without a coach? (By coach I dont mean on lichess, I mean physical or online classes by clubs based in my city)
Well, as far as I'm concerned, one can become an expert or a GM without hiring a coach as it depends on one. Hence, you can get there. (I don't know if you ever will, but you sure "can")

There are self-taught untitled & titled masters out there who developed their understanding of the game solely by observation (& playing often) as they didn't have to resort to coaches nor chess books to aquire due knowledge. One is capable of discerning accurate patterns based on due experience & the ability to adapt to situations, which is basically how one improves & climbs the ranks.

Furthermore, a number of self-taught experts are even coaches as they take pleasure in helping others improve. Some of whom do make a living off of chess as either part-time coaches or full-time.

Cheers
So I could technically play better than my friends who do have coaches?
I never had a coach and became FM (2300 fide). Nevertheless I strongly recommend coaches as they allow you to progress at a much faster pace.

You possibly can do so when you've improved

How much time did it take you? How faster do you think it could have been if you had a coach?

It took me around 14 years. With a coach 5 years would be realistic. That also means with a coach most likely I would've been an IM now.

You can get anywhere you want, play rapid, analyze with stockfish, fix you mistakes, watch videos, read books, use tech like chat gpt, solve puzzles, solve more puzzles, you will save time and money

Ah yes get my king taken by pawn using chatgpt

I used to solve a lot of puzzles, but puzzles above 1500 just don't make sense to me like I dont get how the move is better. I also don't understand analysis with stockfish. Whenever I go for the fried liver, stockfish says I made a blunder even though most of the times I do get a free rook.

I think having a coach would help in better analysis of my games. Most of the coaches in the city are cheap and classes are 1-2 hours per week and it's impossible to get news about OTB tournaments without having a coach so I think its the better option.
if you want to improve, get a coach.
everything else is a waste of your time and energy.
sure it may cost you 20 bucks a week. but if you can‘t afford that, then that should be your main worry, not how good you are in chess.
