Try the Philidor's defense with B3, and Bb2. It's pretty good, and the main structure can be emulated on the queen's side too.
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. b3 Nf6 4. Bb2.

Yes. Probably because I never studied them much (and unfortunately most of the things I play date from when I was still a C player).
