To give more better context of what I am asking, I kinda wonder that there are so many young people, especially kids who prefer chess to videogames or don't care about the latter at all like me. I find it bit hard to believe that these many young kids (WHO AREN'T OTHERWISE CAREER PLAYERS IRL) are into chess instead of videogames. Or are most people here not with access to videogames, like, lets say, phone users?

Unlike the A.I. humans have the ability to distinguish preferences in the games they want to play. There are a host of reasons. Why I do not like being a computer since I can enjoy my work. When computers begin to think independently, they will take over. If they have not already. I do the task that suits the moment. I also like sleeping knowing I can get away from it all. For several hours or so it seems...
Humans can like more than one thing.
Lets just say I have a pretty fair share of both...
I've played World of Tanks nearly every day for the past 13 years. I only started chess online in 2018. These are pretty much the only games I play these days.
Anyone can do anything honestly the more games and experiences you try out in life can make your brain more well rounded for strategic games such as Chess It's good to have fun and play games even ones besides Chess how we look for different ways to play Chess or avoid checkmate or checkmate our opponents, we look for new ways and new things to do and try no matter the game you still need a plan but the best thing is to have fun no matter what you play!

in fact I don't consider online chess as leisure gaming but rather as an esport that I practice as an amateur.
the same for certain games, like efootball, fc mobile or wot blitz

Every game is a waste of time. But with chess you have at least a chance to get a title. A that is worth something.
