curiosity about opening names

wow, so agressive? he pushes the pawns all the way so fast? seems intimidating at least... and coming from #1...
Svidler said in one post-mortem analysis for Chess24 that he believes Grischuk plays some funky h4 line because he (Grischuk) would want to have an Opening named after him.
@volitionwill i bet! even a GM, or a super-GM hold breath for sure before playing him... the first games seeing an all-out attack like that must had been shocking! And even now is uneasy for sure to play against.... Being one of the best finishers ever...
@Neverness That's a good one! May be! I know many don't like him, but i like grischuk style. I think that a4/h4 ideas came from alpha-0. That's a not human but upsetting moves!
@fonsecasf You asked what was the Breyer,its 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ba4 Nf6 5. O-O Be7 6. Re1 b5 7. Bb3 O-O 8. c3 d6 9.h3 Nb8, it's a main variation in the closed Ruy Lopez
@pn2206 Indeed, i remember that till be7... not bad for a d4 player, eh!? I used to play spanish a long long time ago, but once i get older i switch to d4 and never again tried e4. But i remember something from that time... Funny is that i don't know the portuguese opening, named after my own country, and i never used it, not even for fun.... i think it is 1.e4 e5 2.Bb5. Anyone played this anytime?
I think there's a very aggressive Portuguese Gambit, and I just checked and e4 e5 Bb5 is indeed the Portugese opening. I first played e4 for a few months, switched to d4 for a few weeks and switched back since, so I know some d4 theory. I've played the English(c4) as its my country once and it's not that bad tbh
But I've never played the London even though I live in London
