I was playing a game :
lichess.org/7s6frtfHKLjGNothing funambulistic about it, quite the contrary, except for 5 consecutive counter checks. Starting move #44.
Just thought i should share.
The first few exchanges were interesting, but, with drop-check available, nothing too novel or interesting. (That's just ZH.)
I wouldn't call 5-consecutive (ply) checks a "singularity." Maybe the back-and-forth nature, but, the back and forth was broken on 47...Qxd5 (no check).
42... Q@g2+
43. Ke3 Q@e5+
44. R@e4...
At 43, you didn't check, but moved. At 44 you dropped to block, without check. And, at 47, your opponent didn't check, but moved.
In total, looks like you have 8 consecutive checks across ply, but, the chain (of interesting circumstances) is broken by your opponent not exchanging checks consistently.
Still interesting, but, not a "singularity." (That's just standard ZH.)
And, especially against a ratings disparity like that (1600 vs 2000+) ... I've had 2K+ toy with me like that before. (Fun, and interesting exchanges, but, again, definitely not "singularity.")
My bad, starting move 45, i still count 5 consecutive half moves.
I do agree, the game was poor.
