That's it!
And I want those people who want to emphasize their internationality and belonging to the whole world and to humanity also had this opportunity.
US Americans please keep your political debate out here. We don't want to see dems vs reps here. That joke is no funny anymore.
UN flag ? NO!
Some other int. flag would be ok.
And yet, I appeal to the developers of the site. Make the choice of internationale. Let it be NOT the UN flag. I do not care. Let it be the earth's landmark, but it should be.
@PaulCarrero very funny. Maybe a picture of a Milky Way chocolate bar? :)

Anyway, I think the main point of the flag is to show location, not affiliation, representation, or support. If you would like to show that you represent humanity (sorry if that's not quite what you said, @SIowpok ) then you can
A. Put it in your profile or
B. Change your username to something like irepresenthumanity or internationalcitizen and so on.

I don't think the flags mean support for anyone or anything. IMHO.

OK. If the main meaning of the flag is to indicate its location, then I want to indicate that I am on Earth.

In fact, many people use the flag not to indicate their location, but to indicate their belonging to a certain country, although they may not be located there at the moment.
@SIowpok
While I (sort of, to be honest) get your point, I'm curious as to your thoughts on an implication of your argument; namely, that other users might not know that you are on earth until you put that flag.
I think that a username change would do what you want without any hoo-hah. Heck, you could get a UN emoji and add it onto the end of your username if you wanted to.
@SIowpok he just wants to let other people that he lives on Earth. That means there are people who don't live on Earth. This is a huge scientific breakthrough: We finally know if there is extraterrestrial life! Thanks to @Paulcarrero for proving that fact.
Not sure what problem does a small (international) flag creates for all others ?
Usually lichess hides non-english streamers from others. Sometimes I want to watch French/Russian streamers.
If adding an international flag shows all streamers. It would be cool.

@SIowpok "The whole earth" is not a country, end of story. If you want to identify yourself with this location, you can write "Planet Earth" in the graph "Location" and leave "Country" empty. What you suggest makes no sense as flags are intended for informative purposes like knowing what is the most likely native language of your opponent. Universal flag shows no more information of such kind for other people than no flag at all.

> Usually lichess hides non-english streamers from others.
Seriously? Does the fact I use English version of the site means I cannot see Russian streams?
