Hello, chess community.
I would like to know if it's a proper to evaluate current position during play using either physical chess set or digital board. I am NOT asking whether it's permitted to do so using computer engines -- this is pretty clearly not OK.
Until recently I played chess on iPad but since then discovered that drawing arrows during play when analyzing my moves really helped me improve my game. I couldn't expect such feature to be allowed for use during play. Perhaps using separate screen to move pieces around can be fine as well.
Appreciate your response.
