@lovlas I do not disagree. But if by some miracle someone would pour the opening fashion of seventies into my head along side reasonings of them moves I woudl play lot better openings than I do now and would outclass my opponent in most openings. Probably difference of having todays knowledge would very small. Unlike for you, you cannot give extra 0.2 pawns to opponent as my opponent found a good move if it is 0.2 worse than best - obviously same goes for me. Still harder for top 50 I guess.

Did I mention my 2010 book was on opening? Nothing newer appeared in a decade. (Alekhine's defence). But in general, I hate it when I can't rely on GM words because engine disagrees. Of course i want to hear plans about position, not just get perfect move/variation.
