Can someone explain CM to me again?

How can it be that someone with 1800 FIDE is called master and listed under coaches?

Example: lichess.org/coach/Terminator2018

I think CM has to have a FIDE rating of as least 2200. Perhaps it was a local/national title rather than FIDE title?

Maybe they got a fide rating of 2200, got all the norms, took a break from chess and their rating detereorated?

Yeah, I beat a Canditate Master in a simul a couple days ago, it was nothing great, blunders on both sides, but I went to check his profile, and on his profile there was a link to his FIDE profile, showing that he is 1200 rated yet still has the CM title...

To get CM, you have to cross 2200 once in your life. Maybe he crossed 2200 once, and got progressively worse over the years, but 1800 is pretty bad.

Anyone can be a teacher, it is just whether they have any students.
