Berserk ! It's a question of honor

@HORRORMAKER
Carlsen does not usually go 100% berserk in the titled arenas. I believe he did it once, but he doesn't do it routinely.
@doom12384 I was surprised that Carlsen is playing here on line?!
I thought that i have never seen any top star of chess playing chess on line. I saw only Nigel Short and Georg Meier on Chesscom and very rare Ponomariov. But who of the top players is playing here ? I'm new at this server... Maybe you can name some and their nicknames.tx
Some posters here might want a honor percentage. Similar to game completion rate, the percentage of games the player berserks back.
Does Berserk option exist in FIDE rated over the board chess?
I don't think Magnus Carlsen has the option to go berserk against Fabiano Caruana in any game in the world championship match. I might be wrong.
Well at the end of the day it's a question of pride. I don't want to lose my face by playing like a goldfish chicken. I go for it all. Like in the good old times when the played Russian roulette and never go out of the way of a duel. Berserk ! For glory ! Don't want to troll you but it had to be said.
@HORRORMAKER You are very good in speed chess! You should always berserk to get the extra points. My ratings in quick chess are horrible. They are so low that I should never berserk under any circumstances. I need lots of time to avoid making moves which quickly lose.
Suppose there are group of players (lets call it group B) who always berserk each other in a 10+0 tournament.

Suppose there is another group called group A who never does.

On average, group B players will finish two games in the time group A finishes one, and get more than twice the points.

I recall no tournaments where there is that much difference between first and second (though they probably exist), and recall many where there aren't.

Thus, (sensationalizing a bit) I think mutual berserk is something of a mockery, a dishonourable tactic that circumvents and lowlights the players who held to agreement to play Rapid with an external cheat. It's a statement of "no rapid players should win a rapid tournament".

Does this help you see how (especially mutual) berserk can be perceived badly, HORRORMAKER?
@lement Well for me it's not a big difference when i play 10 or 5 minutes it's not that hard to go berserk every time cause i know what i play and mostly i play the same stuff. But from a 3 minutes game on it's getting hard to go berserk especially if it's horde or something where you can't play you known stuff. As far as you know what you play it's easy to play fast cause you don't have to think a lot in the beginning so my average might be one second for the first ten moves maybe faster :) At the end of the day i lose more games on time against no berserks. And you're right it's kind of a statement to go berserk and i love it :)
