@AlbertoChueca, sure I'd comment more just in case it's any use to you. I'd say be careful not to over generalize. You say chess does these 10 things, and I'm sure that it does for you, but how do you know it does for me. You might extract five times as much benefit from chess as I do. I saw something from an interview with Magnus Carlsen where he was describing the way he chooses a move. He does something like watch the game, and take it all in, and he just knows what to move. I think he gets more out of chess than I can even imagine.
And don't think that other sports like foot ball don't give plenty of chance for logic. I heard a description of what it was like to be in the huddle with Johnny Unitas, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. His team mates said it was like being in the huddle with God. He would tell you what the other team is going to do and what we're going to do.
