Punishing 1. e4

People should be more creative on openings.

1. e4 is one of the 20 best openings of this game.

And played in more than 60% of them xD

1...Nf6 is one of the 20 worst responses.

Yes, indeed, why not 2. e5?

I think @tpr is right. I personally don't like playing Nf6 in response to white's e4. Simply because I don't like my knight to be chased by that e5 move and later c4.. By the time i would move only knight from king side to queen side and my opponent already finished making 3 pawn moves.

E.g.
1. e4 Nf6 2. e5 Nd5 3. C4 Nb6 4. d4...

White coukd have played better and win. Lots of blunders I can see in the given game.

You can't punish a good move. You can only punish bad moves.

To punish a move implies that the move was a mistake. You can't punish the best move.
