I just noticed like this is the only time I had had a checkmate with a pawn. Is it rare or happens alot?
It's quite rare in OTB play; in blitz though, not so rare.

Its rarer in comparison to others and also happens to be significantly rarer. I had seen somewhere that a player will get pawn mate once every 1240 games.
