How do I play a rook and pawn endgame?

Honestly, this game above is just about simple calculation and board sight.

Rook ending principles are important but that's irrelevant if you are just blundering pawns.

It's hard to recommend against Dvoretsky's endgame manual or Muller's book, but the general consensus is that they're not so helpful for a 1500. I'd actually recommend De la Villa's 100 endgame's you must know or Silman's complete endgame course.

As has been echoed in a lot of sources (Aagard etc.) endgames are every concrete and the most common mistake a lot of people make is to try and coast through on general principles. Endgames are very much calculation based. You just have to be able to calculate and that just means solving puzzles.
