Game against Ding Liren...

I had the pleasure of playing in a simul against Ding Liren today - it was a 30+30 game with me and five others taking part! Strangely, I had another simul against him a few weeks ago which I lost in 26 moves, so was hoping to do better this time.

In the end I managed to keep a small edge, took advantage of a blunder and nearly won, then re-grouped and held on for a draw. Here's the game with a little bit of analysis, hope you like it! Happy to answer any questions!

@wmiltti

I don't know much about openings or the Sicilian - but isn't 6. ...Bb4 a good move ?

Anyhow, it was amazing to see a super-GM make a blunder like move 27 in a 30/30 game - you deserve credit for taking advantage of it. That should be a double question mark.
Thanks! Yes Bb4 is definitely playable. From memory White plays Qd3 and game continues from there. I was surprised by the blunder. Thought Rxc4 was just winning but it’s a little harder than I’d originally bargained for - though I should probably have been able to calculate Be5 out even in time trouble...
thats awesome dude! You drew literally the 3rd best player in the world! amazing
Great job competing against the 3rd in the world! :) This will help you grow your chess skills

Not sure if the game was played on lichess. There is a "pedestrian" account which is closed. Most likely it was played on some other site - if you ask him which site, you could take a look to see if the game is located there.

Maybe chess.com or chess24 ?

I don't know if it is possible to view old simuls on lichess. I am curious though.
