No - it wasn't a draw. You had an extra piece. To win the endgame, the attacking side (you) should:
- consider trading down pieces to amplify your advantage
- involve the king in the attack
- have some patience and block and pick off your opponent's pawns, and consider sacrificing your piece to gain a pawn or two advantage for promotion
