Indeed, it's just a puzzle, while black could reach this position, white has to make 15 captures with pawns (45÷3), quite impossible if black isn't the Lernaean Hydra, sprouting out new pieces for every one taken. :-)

But indeed in a game we cant have more than 8 pawns in a game its not possible

And in endgame there will be lots of pawn trade in middle game
