I guess I’ve lived a sheltered life, but I don’t remember coming across anyone who says that improving is easy or that the traditional methods are no good.

It would have been funny if you ended the article with a link to your chess courses.

Great article and this is the case for areas other than chess too. a know example is: "become a full depth advanced Python progammer in 7 days from stretch" you'll see such courses anywhere for any programing languade. reality check: becoming a programmer requires a long journey of working on your own and trying to write code by yourself.
Yes,We can’t become a full depth advanced Python progammer in 2 months from stretch.

Most advertisements are targeted like "play and think like a grandmaster", suspiciously insinuating that if I take a course, lesson, boook, etc, I will become one one day myself. But thats NOT TRUE. This targeting hasnt changed much in the last 20 years of me playing chess. But this does not hit me, in fact it never did. I am playing for leasure and pleasure, stuck around the 1900 level for years now. Is this bad? NO! I am having fun playing the game and thats what counts for me. No need to be a GM. So life goes on and chess still is fun (mostly).
