Pushing hard is the only way. If you don't push your pieces hard, you won't frighten your opponent.
That is why it says "Why Pushing Harder MIGHT Be Holding You Back."
And he is talking about journeys, not so specifically about chess.

But maybe defense could be the only solution. Maybe sometimes pushing forwards does do harm.

No, push the pieces physically hard. The noise will intimidate your opponent.
Ohh if your saying it like that then yeah thats true but dont forget to also press the clock with a bang

If you meant this seriously, then you are actually right. As Wilhelm Steinitz rightly said , “Only the one with the initiative has the right to attack.” If a person was behind in development and/or lacking space in a match, he can’t just push his pieces forward (cuz of his opponent attacking. But if your opponent doesn’t attack then you are safe and your opponent is bad). Otherwise he is dead on spot (ofc in the match not in real life skull face).
