#21 Niko,
I think some of us are uncomfortable especially because Lichess is promoting a certain website which uses content creation through blogs solely as a means to gain traction on the basis of authority, for the most part, and less on the value of content offered **within** Lichess - through the same blogs.
While many serious players do find value from their website content of curated courses, it is unclear as to whether the blog from this website is offering real value, that can be critiqued and has been done by Lichess users when such low-effort posts have crept in regularly here.
There's room to analyze the quality of chess blogs and if they're turning to mere advertisements and positive affirmations, which tbh are not tough to churn out given AI can whip out pages and pages in precise grammar even before I can finish typing this paragraph. The discourse is still happening regarding this last I remember from Github,
github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/13651 --- directly related to the 'why' this endorsement which stands despite the admirable sponsorship for a chess event.
Good for chess indeed but it does remind me of ~
