50 Shades of Blunders

<Comment deleted by user>
Wow! It definitely took a loooooong time to write this. I liked it!
Wow, great blog post, Mike! I really needed this.

"Just this weekend, I was looking at games from a local tourney in Toronto and found that a significant portion of the games from the master section were also decided by simple oversights."

Yep, I definitely blundered on multiple occasions in that tournament.

"I told myself that I would act like this was all part of the plan, just like at the train station. My opponent spent quite some time trying to believe his luck, which I tried to complicate by nodding my head and looking very confident."

I will probably need to try this out sometime, lol. My opponent’s going to be so confused when I’m nodding my head in a suspicious position.

Thanks! Word of caution, head nodding only works when you're 300 points higher than the opponent :)
Amazing blog! It's quite hard to find high quality posts like this, especially in the age of ChatGPT and other AI...though there's probably more than just 50 'shades' of blunders.

Waiting for 'Blunders Anatomy' next, haha! :)
How to reslove making mistakes under time pressure? (other than not getting into time pressure...)

Find a safety move in the first few seconds that doesn’t lose, and use your opponent’s time to write down your moves. Make sure you simplify the position by the time you’re in time trouble. Finally, prepare replies to your opponent’s best tries on their turn.
I Loves This Blog.... But I Think It Is Better To Write Shorter Blogs Instead.
