Hi! I'm Akaki Kalichava, a Georgian FIDE Master (FM) with a 2360 FIDE rating and 13 years of competitive chess experience. For over 3 years, I've been coaching students from different countries, helping players of all ages and levels improve their chess in a structured and enjoyable way. My teaching philosophy is simple: understanding is more valuable than memorization. Every lesson is tailored to your current level, strengths, and goals. With 13 years of competitive chess experience, I've achieved the FIDE Master (FM) title and reached a peak FIDE rating of 2360. I am a four-time Georgian Youth Champion and have completed all the norms required for the International Master (IM) title.

I have over 3 years of coaching experience, working with students of different ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to tournament players. I focus on building a strong understanding of chess fundamentals, improving calculation skills, and developing practical decision-making for real games.

My coaching approach is structured and personalized. I create individual training plans based on each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Lessons usually include game analysis, tactics training, opening preparation, endgame study, and practical tournament advice.
