About me

Hello everybody! My name is Boris Stanković, I am 20 year old Fide Master from Serbia, with peak elo of 2376. I believe I can help you improve your game whether you are absolute begginer, intermediate player who wants to increase online rating or over the board player who chases Fide elo.

Playing experience

I started playing chess when I was 7 years old, and have been playing actively till 2024, when I shifted focus to college and also working as a coach. My biggest achievements include winning the Serbian National Championship U16 in 2022, 3rd place at Split Open 2026 and winning Belgrade Premiere League with my team in 2021. My best result in online chess is 7/11 points in Titled Tuesday, while beating some super GMs like Ian Nepomniachtchi and Hans Niemann.

Teaching experience

Since last year, I’ve been coaching players 1-on-1, helping them fix their weaknesses and get real results. One of my most recent students, Aleksandar Omic, managed to gain 200 rating points in both blitz and rapid in just 4 months. Since I focus on individual coaching with a limited number of players, I can offer full dedication and detailed analysis to each student.

Other experiences

Outside of chess, I study mechanical engineering at the University of Belgrade. I’m also big on sports and love playing basketball in my free time.

Best skills

My biggest strength is tactical play and calculation. At the start of my chess career I played many gambits and sharp positions and had a decent success. Over the years I had many coaches for different aspects of the game (opening theory, endgames, understanding of structures, etc). Now I believe I'm well-rounded player who can help you improve every part of your game.

Teaching methodology

Before our first lesson, I’ll check your recent games to see how you play, what you do well, and where you struggle. This way, we can focus directly on the most important things right from the start.
Lessons are held on Google Meet (60 or 90 minutes), depending on your schedule. After every class, I’ll send you homework and study material based on what we practiced, so you can keep working and improving between sessions.
