Hey I’m Ash. I am a highly motivated English NM (National Master) in the top 200 English active players for standard play (150 for Rapidplay), I actively participate in London's vibrant chess scene (e.g league matches), in which I belong to at least 4 clubs West London ( my main activity- being part of a squad, playing alongside GMs (Grand Masters), IM (International Masters) featuring some of England's very best ( current and former British Champions), Hammersmith ( The ECF 2025 Club of the year that meets at the amazing London Mind Sports Centre) and Kingston ( A Surrey powerhouse) and Lewisham. This comprises of playing in the Middlesex, Kent, Surrey, London, Central London, Thames Valley, Hillingdon and Croydon leagues.
I also play regularly for the best county in the country, Surrey (which achieved a hat-trick of winning the Southern Counties Open and ECF County Championship Open throughout 2024-2026) A team, where I feature in the top half of the team consisting of 16 boards. My individual record for them remains unbeaten at 12.5/15 (10 wins, 5 draws).
I seriously got into coaching in 2023, but I have markedly more experience in having coaching from IMs and GMs (a few very prominent).

Playing experience
Peak FIDE 2176 and ECF ~2260.
I have played in numerous Open/Masters tournaments worldwide including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, France, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, also Jersey and Gibraltar. I have also played in the London Chess Classic FIDE Open and Main British championships.
I played in the 2025 FIDE World Rapid and Blitz teams championships (London) for Hammersmith, which won the U2200 team prize in the Rapid, playing against titled players (Mostly IMs and FMs). In the Blitz competed against some of the elite ( Vidit, Ivan Saric- in the world top 30 and 70 respectively).

Teaching experience
I have worked 1-2-1 with ages 5-64, delivered voluntary lectures at chess clubs, taught in after school chess clubs and managed teams of U9s/U11s.
Other experiences
I have participated in various high-level masterclasses and courses designed to teach chess to children (as young as 6)- The Every Lesson Counts masterclass supported by FIDE (The World Chess Organization), held in London, and the FIDE EDU 34th Preparation of Teachers Course (online), becoming a newly qualified FIDE School Instructor. From those I was able to learn from the best, discover new strategies and practical resources to engage students, gain fresh insight and enrich my teaching practice.
