I am Garv Gaur, a 19-year-old chess player and coach from India. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, while actively competing in international chess tournaments.
I have a peak FIDE rating of 2401 and have completed all the requirements for the International Master (IM) title. Alongside my playing career, I have been coaching chess for over a year, helping students improve their strategic understanding, positional play, opening preparation, and practical decision-making.
As an active competitive player, I understand the challenges of tournament chess firsthand. I enjoy sharing my experience and helping students develop a deeper understanding of the game while working towards their individual goals.

Teaching methodology
I tailor each lesson to the student's level, goals, and individual needs. I usually conduct two structured classes per week, focusing on a specific topic or area of improvement, followed by personalized homework to reinforce and apply the concepts covered. I follow up with students through game reviews, feedback, and discussions about their progress. I also provide tournament support, including opening preparation and opponent-specific analysis whenever required. My goal is to make every lesson practical, engaging, and focused on long-term improvement.
