About me

FREE 30-MINUTE INTRODUCTORY CALL

Hello! My name is Emmanuel Jiménez García, International Master from Costa Rica and chess coach.

I help students improve through structured game analysis, practical decision-making training, and personalized study plans. I don’t teach only shortcuts or memorized lines, I focus on helping students understand how they think during a game, identify recurring mistakes, and build better habits over time.

You can see a fuller overview of my private coaching method, student results, reviews, and training examples here:

I work with kids, adult improvers, and competitive players, from beginners to advanced level.

Playing experience

- International Master (FIDE)
- Peak FIDE rating: 2437
- 3 GM norms
- 3-time Costa Rican National Champion: 2021, 2023, 2024
- Costa Rican National Team / Olympiad player
- Extensive experience in international tournaments against titled players and grandmasters

My playing style is based on logic, practical decision-making, and understanding positions rather than memorizing long variations.

Teaching experience

I have been teaching chess for 7+ years, both online and in person, and have worked with students from the United States, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and Europe.

My students include young beginners, scholastic tournament players, adult improvers, and advanced competitive juniors.

The training is always personalized, but the main themes are usually the same: understand your own games, recognize recurring mistakes, improve calculation discipline, build practical openings, and become more independent as a player.

If you are interested in working together, you can book a free 30-minute introductory call.
