About me

Hi, this is International Master Srihari L from Pondicherry ,India .I became an International Master in Feb,2024 with a peak rating of 2400 . I am the first title holder in my State and have been playing competitive chess for around 13 years. My major achievements include several top 5 finishes in Nationals consecutively, Silver medallist in Asian Juniors Rapid 2023 and Triple time Individual Gold Medallist in National team Championships .I also have several top ten finishes in International GM tournaments including a silver medal in the prestigious Paracin Open 2025 and several titles in All India Open tournaments in and around the country.

Playing experience

I have been playing competitive chess for around 13 years and so.My strength lies in Calculation and dynamic decision making .I am more of an objective thinker and mostly depend on a principled way of thinking. From my several years of competitive experience ,I have clearly understood certain aspects of the game which can be of immense help to aspiring and ambitious players around. Opening understanding is another area where I can offer my guidance. My approach is more of a practical and flexible thing.

Teaching experience

I've spent years helping ambitious players break through rating plateaus, even before launching a formal coaching platform. I've worked with numerous players rated 2000+ who were stuck despite strong tactical knowledge, helping them identify the practical weaknesses that were holding them back. My coaching emphasizes objective thinking, rigorous calculation, dynamic decision-making, and finding the strongest move under real game conditions.

Best skills

My greatest strength as a coach lies in developing objective decision-making and honest self-analysis. Instead of focusing only on what move was missed, I help students identify the root cause behind their mistakes—whether it is a flaw in calculation, evaluation, time management, psychological bias, or strategic understanding.Blunt self analysis is the key to improvement and decision making can only be self taught.

Teaching methodology

My teaching is practical and tailored to each student's way of thinking. Rather than following a rigid methodology, I adapt my approach to the individual's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.
Currently I am taking on a limited number of students while also actively competing myself.
