FM Ivan Maxmillian Putra

I am 20, an active player in Indonesia. Fluent in Bahasa and English. I am currently in my final year in college as an electrical engineer in one of the most prestigious colleges in Indonesia.

I have experience coaching in Sekolah Catur Utut Adianto in Indonesia for some classes and some private students.

I have my own method of coaching which would be different for every student. Love working with people and am happy to share every knowledge I have.

I played for Indonesia on numerous opportunities (including Olympiad in 2016 when I was 15) and got my FM at ASEAN Age Championship in Tarakan 2011.

WINNER/Gold medalist of official national and province championship several times from 2010 - 2020.

WINNER of many national chess events in Indonesia.

I coach some students privately from Utut Adianto chess school in Indonesia, and before that, I also have some private local students which won the local championship in less than 2 years.

Active in chess community in my college as President, building a training syllabus for members from all levels down from less than 1000 rated to around 2000 rated. I also help to make some coaching modules in the chess school.

Analytical thinking approach, the fundamental principle of chess, basic understanding through the opening until the endgame of chess.

I approach every student in different ways. I am very determined to build chess skills for others so I need to know what things would make every student of mine get better. I have my basic method and system on coaching, but, there must be some changes to suit students' needs.
