  1. gaben1773 (6) I've come to really like 1.e3. It allows sneaky transpositions to openings the opponent may not know.
  2. gaben1773 (6) 5.a3 looks ridiculous, but is a serious move. The idea is 6.dxc5 and 7.b4. 5.cxd4 avoids this, but gives a Panov
  3. gaben1773 a3 isn't the best move in the Panov, but neither is e6
  4. jose684 Go Gaben !
  5. jose684 not sure if it was a good idea to give up the light square
  6. jose684 White needs to counter the e5 pawn push
  7. gaben1773 (13) This will get double edged after Bxg5 Nxg5 e5. Hopefully I can prove something with the c5 pawn. Getting the bishop pair off helps.
  8. jose684 To be honest I didn’t like that last 2 White moves
  9. gaben1773 I think I want to prevent the knight from being caught offsides, so Bxg5 Nxg5 e5 Nf3 e4 (exd4 Qxd4 seems fine) Nd2 followed by Nf1
  10. jose684 now Black has e4 !
  11. gaben1773 (16) queenside vs kingside, need to decide whether I should break with f3
  12. jose684 black has got an Alpha Zero pawn now , which I don’t like. But he is still ok I think. White is up on clock :)
  13. gaben1773 I think f3 can always just be met with f5, and the e4 pawn is only stronger with the inclusion of f3. So this is just a race
  14. jose684 Black Bishop is staring into space , not sure if it is productive right there
  15. jose684 Even though it is taking away some squades
  16. jose684 Nxc5 was there for Black and he misses it
  17. jose684 lol the black rook could get trapped
  18. jose684 Hopefully White can bring it home now
  19. gaben1773 (49) well that was careless...
  20. gaben1773 got a bit lucky here. My queen is very well placed. Still Qe5... man
  21. jose684 GG both
  22. LeoYee Wow holding the draw at the very end was so much simpler than I thought
  23. LeoYee Pretty sure I'd see that with just a little bit more time
  24. LeoYee Tough one tho
