  1. pepellou 4..Nc6 surprised me, as it gives away the pawn on d5 and I'm not sure Nb4 gives enough comp
  2. pepellou but then 7. Qxb4 was too generous :D
  3. pepellou white played that move fast - I guess they missed the bishop on f8 when they played Qa4+ uffda
  4. pepellou I thought 8..Bxc3 was not necessary and 8..0-0 could have been played directly
  5. pepellou my reasoning is: if you're going to castle giving away e5 (which I would do too) there's no need to give the bishop pair
  6. pepellou then I didn't like 10..Bf5 much because it walks into e4, although of course queen up every move is playable...
  7. pepellou 11..Nxd5 totally walking into e4, although the position could have gotten messier if after that black attacked the knight
  8. pepellou for instance 12..Qe7 or 12..f6 were interesting as the knight does not have great retreats
  9. pepellou so maybe Black could have avoided losing another piece with those ideas
  10. lc91 go z0x!
  11. pepellou anyway, still looking great for Black, a queen is a queen
  12. pepellou but White has a healthy position, except for the queen down :P
  13. pepellou at least now they seem to be slowing down a bit - they played strangely fast so far, given what happened on the board
  14. pepellou I was wondering who would the bishop trade benefit
  15. pepellou Black wanted the trade and White didn't want, but Black's bishop can be really strong
  16. pepellou it's a pity z0x hung the queen so soon - the game is not very exciting due to that, but I appreciate the fight
  17. pepellou I like 15..c5 a lot, it was not necessary to break but it makes white's life more difficult, as d4 will be a weakness and lines will open
  18. pulsar512b holy shit youve been writing up a storm
  19. pepellou sorry
  20. pepellou :P
  21. kotoole Let's go z0x!
  22. kotoole Comeback time
  23. pepellou hope the comments help the players after the game
  24. pulsar512b nah its great i do it a ton too :)
  25. pepellou but so far it's one way traffic after the queen hung...
  26. pulsar512b i cant really chide the players for playing fast considering how i play
  27. pulsar512b but it does feel like black's made a bit of a mash of this
  28. pulsar512b but ok black should still be able to bring it home, but i mean its board 10 ive seen stranger
  29. pepellou I think Black got lucky after 4..Nc6 but now it's really difficult for White
  30. pepellou I understand anything can still happen, board 10 and ratings-wise
  31. pepellou but it's so difficult for White to find moves
  32. pepellou Bh3 and Bb2 were sad
  33. pulsar512b yeah like even with equal material i would probably take black here
  34. pulsar512b (16) iqp and white's kinda super uncoordinated
  35. pepellou even 16..c4 would be torture for White, but I don't expect 1300s going for that :P
  36. pulsar512b plus weak light squares is always gonna be a problem
  37. pulsar512b and re2 is coming soon
  38. pulsar512b and that only makes all of that worse
  39. pepellou yes, I thought Bxd5 (or just d4) instead of Bh3 were interesting, as eliminating Black's active piece makes life a bit "easier"
  40. pepellou at least with the goal to find a fortress of sorts
  41. pepellou yes, f6 is a move I really wanted!
  42. pulsar512b this feels like.. uh.. yeah i dont like this somehow lol
  43. pulsar512b like cxd cxd be6 at the minimum is there
  44. pepellou the knight on e5 was the only good piece for White I think and now Black can exploit that diagonal weak after Bh3
  45. pepellou (Qe7-Qe4 ideas or Bc6)
  46. pulsar512b (17) yeah there's always that but tbh like cxd cxd be6 just trades a pair of pieces and it shouldnt be too difficult to win tha
  47. pulsar512b but like am not surprised if there's better
  48. pepellou even 17..Qe7 seems playable now because Nxc5 there's b6
  49. pepellou anyway I refrained from suggesting f6 earlier because it's always tricky, especially in low ratings
  50. pulsar512b (17) ye and if like nxc5 b6 nb3 or whatever qe4 f3 qe2 is very annoying and white starts getting mated
  51. pepellou or Qc2 probably better than Qe2
  52. pepellou threatening the bishop and also Re2
  53. pulsar512b ah yes that's a legal move too, isnt that just winning on the spot
  54. pulsar512b this is.. whatever i guess but its definitely not like good
  55. pepellou well I suppose any plan is winning at this point, as long as Black does not hang the queen xD
  56. pulsar512b i feel like black's just bleeding out bit by bit
  57. pulsar512b mb im being overly pessimistic
  58. pepellou 18..Qe7 seems so strong again, now there's no Nc5
  59. pepellou anyway gtg but will check the rest later - go Damian, you got this!
  60. pulsar512b you could also do it this way and get a tempo on the knight on c5 i guess, but then you have a bit of a problem with something like ba3 exis
  61. pulsar512b maybe you have rc8 there
  62. pulsar512b sorta fortunate that there's probably never any nxf6 discoveries because qxf6
  63. pulsar512b probably be6 bx rx nxc5 rd6 takes takes and while its not gonna be easy to convert it should be doable
  64. pulsar512b maybe there's even some qb6 tactic somewhere along the line
  65. pulsar512b (19) i like this, honestly
  66. pulsar512b (19) bit concerned about ne5 but at worst you can play rxe5 or something and probably still doing well because white has a crap position
  67. pulsar512b bxf1 now should be fine
  68. pulsar512b this works too
  69. pulsar512b is prolly better lol
  70. pulsar512b and now after rxd3 qxb2 white can resign
  71. pulsar512b proly wont and can understand that because its b10 but
  72. kotoole rooting for 23. ... Rd8 24. Rd1 Qxa2??
  73. kotoole There's always hope!
  74. pulsar512b rxf1 kxf1 qd3+ is simplest
  75. pulsar512b and black's found (at least the start) of it
  76. pulsar512b and that's game
