My name is Garry, but my friends call me GP. I am new to chess. I played a little in high school, but nothing competitive at all, just friends trying to learn the basic moves of the game to say we played chess. :) I recently gained an interest in it and decided to really learn how to play. I am amazed at the community I am witnessing and how deep this game really is. I am fascinated. I don't really understand how this website and other chess websites work, but I'm figuring it out. I have no idea what any of the ratings mean and no clue how to have myself rated either. I'll soon learn. :)
