Why My Lichess Lag is Killing Me (Please Patch This Up)

Recently, I’ve had a shocking amount of lag. This lag has completely destroyed my Lichess experience, making the website unplayable. Today (27th April 2025), I had an arena tournament, where I played four matches, all of which I lost because of this dumb lag. Arena tournaments have a system where, after 20 seconds, if you don’t play a move, you immediately lose the match. At the start of every game, there was an insane amount of lag, where the game wouldn’t let me play any move for half a minute, meaning I immediately lost. At the start of the tournament, I was 1400. After the result of only four matches, I became a measly 1200. One match, I lost 30 rating points because of this lag. I quit in protest, and officially resigned as a chess player until this lag stopped. Lichess, please stop this nonsense and help me move onwards on my wondrous journey of chess.
