We began introducing guest reviews a few weeks back, and we’re currently working with several new potential guest authors.
Chessreads currently covers 745 chess books. You can see all the book reviews listed here. You can also filter books by category, rating, author, and more here.
If there is any chess book you have something to say about, regardless of whether it's already on the site or already reviewed, consider joining our team of guest reviewers!
Your writing skills or chess skills are not important. What is important is that you give your own, subjective opinion on a book, so that the readers can see what reading it was like for someone at your level.

Can anyone write reviews?
Technically, yes, but there are requirements for the reviews to be published on Chessreads. Firstly, you mustn’t use AI for writing the review, and you must be civil. Secondly, each review should answer key questions a potential reader may have, such as difficulty and quality of annotations. The rest is up to you.
How do I submit a review?

- The review itself divided into chapters; including an introduction and a conclusion
- A short excerpt where you summarize the most important points covered in the review
- A link to your FIDE/chess com/lichess/USCF or any equivalent rating page, so that the readers know you’re trustworthy.
