My first Blog

ChessLichessOff topic
At last: The (not) awaited blog post of mine!

Hello and welcome to my first ever Blog post! (I really do not know how to write a blog post though...)

My favorite Openings

So, lets just talk about some things, like my favorite openings: My favorite Opening is the Najdorf Sicilian - both for white and especially with black. I also enjoy The King's Indian defense and attack as well as the London System with white. Oh, and I also like to play the Ruy Lopez, the Scotch (Gambit) with white, whereas I enjoy the Grünfeld with the black pieces.

My favorite chess players

My favorite chess player is probably Bobby Fischer, since I have enjoyed many of his games and liked "My 60 memorable games" But I can't really decide, because I also like Garry Kasparov, Paul Morphy and many other players too.

My favorite chess-game

I like many games that were played, but my favorite game still is the most famous one: The Opera Game

My chess-journey so far

I really like lichess, in fact, I think it is the best chess-server that there is. I have reached a 2100+ rating in Rapid chess and a 2000+ rating in Blitz here on lichess. I have also created some studys, the most notable would be The Mighty London System

My favorite chess-set

Although I do not own the chess-set, I think that the "Zagreb" pieces are the finest, at the very least they look beatuiful and often times are big and heavy. I also like the "Dubrovnik" chess pieces, and I prefer chess pieces made out of wood. But there also some fancy chess sets made out of glass or even stone, these look amazing aswell, but I would not like them that much, since I think that a chess-set must be somewhat practical. And then there are the, dare I say it, generic plastic pieces, which are quite often fine.

My favorite chess-book

My favorite chess book is "My System" by Aaron Nimzowitsch, although I love the style of commentary in Fischers "my 60 memorable Games", so this might be a close second.

My favorite game I have played myself

This often times chenges, but for now, I like this game the most (I was white) :

Now, updating, my favorite game I myself played is this one (also, it is one of my best games):

My favorite chess quote

My favorite chess quote is:

How can I lose to such an idiot?

by Aaron Nimzowitsch. I like this quote, because I have often played games, and have had a winning position or was having an advantage the whole game, and in the end I could not convert the position or lost on time and so on. But this quote is in my opinion also nice, because my opponents often can't do the same and so I'd have been the lucky one. All in all, I like this quote very much.

My favorite chess-website/server

This is obviuosly Lichess, because it allows free usage - adless usage and it is open-source, as well as that the community here is also very nice.

My favorite Forum-post

It is MrCalderons forum post, because it inspired me to get "My System". Other than that, I really liked this poem.

A little feature request

I would like to have the option of a comment section under a Blog post, so that you can choose, whether to add one to your Blog or not.

But that's it for my first Blog post, thanks for reading (and remember, that Opinions differ from person to person, because Opinions are subjective!) I will also leave the Blog picture (Standard gold Lichess logo on a black/white ground) as it is, since this Blog is my very first one. I hope, that you enjoyed this Blog and thanks for reading once again!
