Play the Stafford Gambit like Eric Rosen

ChessAnalysisOpeningChess Personalities
Use the power of LiChess Tools to play as Eric Rosen 413 games in which he won with the Stafford!

Welcome to another entry in the "Play like..." series. This time you get to play as IM Eric Rosen, renowned YouTuber and the man who probably put the Stafford Gambit on the map!

The Eric Rosen's Stafford Gambit study combines the first 20 moves of 413 games in which Eric won as Black using the Stafford. Just to put this in perspective, there were 524 total Stafford Gambit games, which means a win ratio of 78% with a supposedly unsound gambit.

You will need to install the LiChess Tools browser extension to be able to use this study. The first chapter presents the first four moves of the opening, the second is a full Interactive Lesson. Play it multiple times to get different variations. Can you guess what Eric would have played?

As before, the "good" moves are the moves Eric made and the bad ones are the ones not in the study. That doesn't mean they are the best moves. Feel free to clone the study and add your own comments and analyses.

Enjoy!
