Results of the Atomic Chess League Season 1

TournamentChess variant
What started as a fun idea became a two-months long tournament with teams made of the very best atomic players. Who won in the end?

The Atomic Chess League was launched in July 2025, organized by @MaxwellsSilvrHammer and @HowlinD.
It gathered 36 players, in 8 teams, across two leagues, the Elite league (for ~2200+ players) and the Challenger league (for U~2200 players).

Every two weeks, each team would face another one, with 4 matches played across 4 boards, of a different time control (3+2, 3+0, 1+0, 1/2+0). For each round, team captains would assign their players to a time control, not knowing what the opposing team line up would be, which led to a lot of strategizing, trying to end up with favourable pairings.

Two months have passed and it's now time to look at the final standings!

What now?

Now that Season 1 is over, the ACL will take a break for a few months to let place to the Atomic World Championship. We hope you'll be back for Season 2! There might be some changes to the tournament format and the players. Join The Atomic Chess League team to stay updated.
