BREAKING NEWS!

Cheater caught during the 1st Stage National Age Group Chess Championships (Pre-Eliminations) Under 16 Boys Division!

The Pre-Eliminations occur at the Lichess.org platform on February 06, 2022, 2:00pm (GMT+8) Philippine Time.
We can see here in the tournament link - Boys 16 - https://lichess.org/swiss/UHy40wBV
As we can see, after the tournament the standings were declared by lichess.
Standings after Round 7:
Champion: LJAlonzo_2007Navotas
2nd Runner Up: NM OReyes_2011_Pampanga
3rd Runner Up: RJAbeleda2006_Manda
4th Runner Up: AHilario2007_Bulacan
5th Runner Up: Firmalino2007Cavite
6th Runner Up: FAndes_2006_Albay
7th Runner Up: JECastro_2006_Cavite
8th Runner Up: JHSurbito_2007_ZC
9th Runner Up: KDELIG_2006_LAPULAPU
10th Runner Up: ADSacristan_2007_Val

These are the top 10 players who made it after the Pre-Elimination, suddenly the Lichess Cheating detection found out that LJAlonzo_2007Navotas the Champion of the U16 Category cheated using engine assistance!
His account was red tagged by Lichess.org, since the platform decided that he violated the Lichess Terms of Service.
The games were analyzed by other players and found out that there were suspicions. The chess community still gives the accused player the benefit of the doubt even though there is a proof red tagging by lichess.
Since LJAlonzo_2007Navotas is disqualified by Lichess.org and stripped off his wins in the said tournament, NM OReyes_2011_Pampanga can be considered as the New Champion because of his superb performance with true sportsmanship, the disqualification of LJAlonzo_2007Navotas and he is tied with RJAbeleda2006_Manda, both with 5.0 points, but the lichess tiebreaking says that NM OReyes_2011_Pampanga (Lichess Tiebreak: 20) is ahead of RJAbeleda2006_Manda (Lichess Tiebreak: 17),
We hope that in the future online national tournaments will be more strict when it comes to conducting this tournament. Due to COVID-19 protocols, Over the board tournaments cannot be conducted because of the Omicron Variant threats in the country.
Stay safe, Be Honest, Play with Integrity, and Chess be with you all!
