the struggles of online chess
ever feel tired? ever feel like there is not much motivation or even effort towards trying to even draw a single game? online chess can feel like that at times and thats why i will showcase the top 3 things i hate when struggling#1 the depression and recovery phase -
we all go through tilting which is basically a term to represent how someone is not at his usual skill or performance, losing lots of rating and just normal pace gradually. it takes time to recover from the hits and i myself have experienced this on numerous chess sites knowing that there is always the possibility of you returning back and regaining your once lost peak one day.
#2 the frustration and pressure
many people have lots of expectations on you, some dont while others can really get in your head and make you go crazy with proving them wrong. you have to realize that while the pressure will make you bleed and even go insane, there is always another option around this and everyone has the choice to a more calm way
#3 just losing in general
this is a very easy topic to talk about but regardless of how positive or negative you are, there is always going to be times where we all can relate that we would be angry at ourselves for losing games we should have won or just basically werent in the zone. it happens and every rating point matters as while its just a number, it has special value to all chess players as their skill and improvement matters and therefore these games also matter to them as they have emotional consequences to them.
"the best way to recover is to simply keep bleeding and come back to take the punches again"
cheers everyone, stay safe, always make the right choices in life, and good night
