Top seed GM Wang Hao lost to FM Dmitry Rostovtsev, 2nd seed GM Alexey Sarana drew with IM Atilla Kuru, 3rd seed GM Shant Sargsyan resigned against IM Goutham Krishna H, and 5th seed GM Bardiya Daneshvar was beaten by FM Shahin Valiyev.
