  1. BCirillo10 note for review: sort of out of book at my move 8. This could go back to stuff I know though
  2. Haspelknecht go Silk!
  3. Silkthewanderer I am trying to play this like a reverse Kan with an inferior b6 instead of b5
  4. Haspelknecht What a gorgeous hedgehog!
  5. Silkthewanderer Unfortunately I am a bit hazy on some details there even though I updated my repertoire just 3 weeks ago
  6. Silkthewanderer Growing old sucks. No wonder old geezers like Magnus only play 960 these days.
  7. Silkthewanderer Maybe there was a way to save the bishop pair with Qe6 but that really didn't seem like the spirit of the position
  8. BCirillo10 (9) I can only assume that the someone put metal tools and rocks into the dryer. Great timing.
  9. mynameismund Go Silk!
  10. BCirillo10 Review note: (...13. f3?)
  11. Silkthewanderer No idea if I would have played this if the team was in close contention for the top
  12. Silkthewanderer But this move is way too fun to ignore and it is the purpose towards the first few moves have been built
  13. Silkthewanderer I only regret my time management up to here. But what else is new.
  14. Silkthewanderer The first important point is that after fxe3 I should go Qh4+ first to force a commitment from the king. fxe3 Bxc4 Nf3 is less fun for me
  15. wizzywop Showed up for the fun part
  16. Haspelknecht :partyparrot:
  17. Haspelknecht uh
  18. Silkthewanderer Huh. I peeked and Ne3 was indeed correct.
  19. Silkthewanderer Probably should not have doubted but the variations branch out a bit and I was worried at times
  20. Silkthewanderer Annoyingly there is no quick knockout after fxe3 Qh4 Kd2 because Qf2 Qe2 Bg4 can be blocked
  21. Silkthewanderer But apparently I can just trade on c4 and/or e3 and slow play this. Which I guessed but might have stumbled into time troublw
