  1. kb6567 (7...Bd6) this was what I prepared to avoid the same game as last time, which I assumed my opponent would be prepared for.
  2. kb6567 (10...Qxc6) not too happy with this position but I think it should be playable.
  3. kb6567 (cont.) I didn't look at 8.Ne5 but I probably should've haha oh well
  4. kb6567 (cont.) the three moves I did look at were 8. Qxc4, 8. 0-0, and 8. Na3
  5. kb6567 (cont.) love leaking my opening files for future opponents!
  6. kb6567 (14...Nd5) maybe not the most accurate move, but I think this makes my position cleaner to play. Black has a lot to play for here even...
  7. kb6567 (cont.)... though white is probably better according to the engine. Should be an interesting game, Rb8/Kd7/Ba6 kinda play themselves
  8. kb6567 (26...Kb7) after that smooth king maneuver I've seen worse positions for me
  9. kb6567 (45...Rd7) definitely against the wall right now, it feels like white has a breakthrough
  10. kb6567 (46...Re7) don't expect my opponent to accept, but I'd take it at this point haha
  11. kb6567 (54...Kb6) 53.Rb8 was a very good move in my opinion
  12. kb6567 (56.d5) this is unfortunately quite clearly losing now
  13. Arges42 Quite intense end game. But really interesting.
  14. Arges42 I feel like you needed to play 25.h5 to prevent the fixation of the h pawn on black
  15. kb6567 Yeah it looks like 35...f6 maybe was a chance to keep equality but even then it might've been too late
  16. kb6567 yeah I wasn't sure about playing h5 b/c the bishop gets so much access
  17. kb6567 but if I put the pawns on light squares the bishop isn't hitting anything so
  18. Arges42 yeah I think that makes it harder to create a passed pawn
  19. Arges42 But I guess its still always an uphill battle for equality for black
  20. kb6567 yeah when I was looking at Bd6 I didn't really consider 8.Ne5
  21. Arges42 I was not prepared for 8.Ne5, I wanted to play Bxb4 after 7...Nd5
  22. kb6567 the 8...0-0 9.Nxc6 bxc6 positions are so tricky for me to play
  23. Arges42 I vaguely remembered that Ne5 was a possible move
  24. kb6567 yeah a lot of these positions simplify to endgames like the one we played
  25. kb6567 I thought I found a decent version but evidently not
  26. kb6567 also 14...Bb7 15.Rc1 0-0-0 is quite the computer line for equality haha
  27. Arges42 A lot to learn from that game.
  28. Arges42 Thanks again!
  29. kb6567 You too!
  30. Arges42 And good luck for the rest of the tournament
  31. kb6567 yes it looks like it'll be an exciting season for both of our teams
