7th Rank Pawn - Beginner to Chess Master #21
This is video #21 from the "Beginner to Chess Master" playlist. A pawn positioned on the 7th rank only has 1 more move before promotion, but that last step is not always an easy one to make. We specifically look at a case where the stronger side's rook is in front of the passed pawn, and the defending side's rook is behind the passed pawn. Illustrated is what to do as the weaker side to hold the draw, what pitfalls to avoid along the way, and how the addition of more variables can influence play.
