In this video, IM Alex Astaneh is going to be showing you a well-known opening trap in the Albin Counter Gambit that is good to know if you want to play it from the black side and try to catch out your opponents and itβs also good to be aware of it, if you are a Queenβs Pawn Opening player from the white side because you may face the Albin Counter gambit quite a bit over the course of your chess career.
The Lasker Trap derives from the Queenβs Gambit Declined and in particular comes from the Albin Counter Gambit. A gambit is basically a chess opening strategy in which a player sacrifices material, for example a pawn, in order to achieve an advantageous position or a development advantage. In the Albin Counter Gambit, black immediately challenges the center by offering up his own unprotected pawn on e5. After white takes the pawn on e5, black is setting up the opening trap. There are various chess strategies, tricks, tips and traps that you can use to fool your opponents. Knowing this chess trick will definitely surprise your opponent and helps you to win more games.
