Tried the last puzzle in the blog, and remembered why I hate pawn endgames: lichess.org/training/McORh
I thought h5,gxh6,gxh6 and pushing the passed pawn faster was the way to go, but I completely forgot white can just start running back and catch my pawn without performing en passant in the first place....

Thank you, amazing stuff! The toughest puzzle just reminded me of that Caruana game, maybe 3-4 years back, in the Sinquefield, I think, where there was this humanly unfindable long line including a Nh1...
One interesting theme could be the fine rare wins with opposite coloured bishops!

HO IMPARATO NUOVE COSE
These are interesting, but what is the easiest puzzle on lichess?
I tried the 3 hardest and usually even all my candidate moves were wrong :P
About the hardest ones, all have lost their rating now!
Personally, 2nd was harder than 3rd and 1st ones.
Personally, about longest ones, 3rd one that is 15 mover (not endgame one) was hardest of the lot.

could you make such a good blog about the theming system. The other direction of your presentation.. How does the voting system works, and if lichess has some guidllines for user feedback on the themes.
maybe there are links that do cover such questions i have missed.. The themes more than the difficulty of the puzzle is my current motivation. Maybe i am not alone. good job bringing awareness of the puzzle database.
Also you showed selectable puzzle traversal, but each time through a unique aspect. That is natural given that the theme system is only accessible through mono-theme selection. Maybe you have ways of combining aspects or dimensions, or themes..
I suggested, in some thread, adding a search box with some AND and OR and NOT and parens (basic boolean search) could make a better guided exploration, and perhaps another chapter of your blog, if the feature was there.
Yes old technique, but there is no 2D visual way to emulate that (or is there?). Some of us can make such search combos, like in old libraries before google did it for you. old but powerful and insighful.. and less passive by the way.
I know it seems taboo nowadays to even think of having such search box open to public (but public in chess land might not be logic-phobic, i would bet). I hope some lichess people also reading this.
