How to Add an Image to Your Lichess Profile

Just follow these easy steps to add an image to your Lichess profile.

Step 1: Upload Your Image to an Image Hosting Service

First, choose and upload the image you want to use to an image hosting platform. Popular options include:

• imgur.com
• postimages.org

I personally recommend Postimages, so I’ll use it in this guide. After uploading your image, the platform will provide 8 different links.

Copy the second link labeled "Direct Link". This is the one you’ll need for your profile.

Step 2: Add the Image to Your Lichess Profile

1. Log in to your lichess.org account.
2. Click "Menu" (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner, then select "Edit Profile" from the dropdown.
3. In the "Biography" section, paste the direct link you copied earlier.

4. Scroll down and click "Submit" to apply the changes.

Add an Image to a Lichess Team

If you want to display an image in your team description, copy the fourth link from Postimages labeled "Markdown". Paste it into the team description, and the image will appear automatically.
