The Case of The Stolen Diamond

Chapter 1

‘Hello, my name is Matthew Jensen and this is The Case of The Stolen Diamond. It started on a sunny afternoon when a woman came screaming. I stopped her and said “what is the matter Madam” (Asher and I were on our daily stroll if you need to know). “Just so you don’t need to ask me later, my name is Lucy Barcley. The matter is that I own a Jewelry Store and my best diamond (which I refused to sell to a poor man) has been stolen!” Said the woman
“Lucy, may I call you Lucy?”
“Yes you may”
“Lucy, when was the last time you saw the diamond?”
“Two days ago”
“Why didn’t you tell me and Asher yesterday?”
“Because I was a little afraid of asking young Detectives for help.”
“We are the best Detectives in town, how could you not come to us first.”
“Well I will decide if you are the best detectives in town.”
“Whatever you say, where did you last see it?”
“In my store”
“Where in your store?”
“In a box”
“Where was the box?”
“In my store”
“Where in your store?”
“In a box”
“Where in the store was this box?”
“Next to my computer”
“Where is your computer?”
“Next to the box, boy you detectives are silly.”
“Actually you are answering the questions in a silly manner”
“Oh”
“What street is your store on may I ask”
“On eleanor street”’

Chapter 2

‘At three pm we were at the scene of the crime. I looked at the box and it looked like a box with a pillow in it, then I saw not only the imprint of a diamond but the imprint of a gun as well. “Did you only have a Diamond in this box?” I asked. “Yes,” Lucy answered.
“Why is there the imprint of a gun in there then?”
“I don’t know”
“Were you here when the Diamond was stolen?”
“No, I was not”
“How do you know that the diamond was stolen?”
“Because of a security camera of mine”
“Where is this security camera?”
“In a clock”
“Very smart, where were you when the diamond was stolen?”
“I was at my house watching a movie”
“Cool, which movie was it?”
“I don’t remember”
“Is that the name of the movie or is it that you forgot the name of the movie?”
“I didn’t just forget the name of the movie, I've forgotten everything about the movie.”
“That's not good, when was the diamond stolen?”
“Um, at 5:30pm Tuesday on the second of”
“You don’t need to tell me the date, where is your security room?”
“What is a security room?”
“It is the computers for all of the security cameras, where is it?”
“Um this way.” Lucy was walking away so Asher and I started to walk after her, then she showed us the bathrooms, then the gun room (I was starting to wonder why a store would have a Gun room), “why do you have a gun room” Asher asked. “I’ve never seen it before,” Lucy answered. This got my brain ticking. This is what I was thinking ‘maybe the gun room isn’t a gun room’. “Mrs Barcley, if you don’t know about this gun room then I am going in there. You can come in with me if you want but if not Asher is going to stay with you to make sure you don’t do something you will regret”. I went to the door and when I opened the door just a little I heard a Gun. I jumped away from the door and then all of a sudden the door started to open.’

Chapter 3

‘When the door had fully opened a man came out. “Lucy this man is your father he fired the gun, he fired the gun because he fought I was the thief. You probably don’t recognize him. Before you ask me why he doesn’t look like your dad I will answer. The man you think is your dad is the man you have thought was dead for years. Well I brought him to your house at night three weeks ago. You see he ran into my office saying that his name was David Barcley and that he had been on the run from thieves.” I said “You see your brother was working for the police, he went undercover as a leader of a gang called The Desperados. The actual leader was caught by the police two weeks before so he could easily know what to do. One week after him pretending to be the gang's leader the real leader escaped and told his gang everything about David. David told me what his plan was and it was to wipe your memory every time you found out who he was until the gang was put behind bars. Your dad was supposed to hide in a room. But I didn’t know where the room was going to be. Inside a store with a fake wall in front of the door is all that I knew until yesterday morning. I was out on my morning walk around the city when I saw a lot of men standing near by your store and then I recognized one, it was your younger brother Charles Barcley. When he saw me he got angry and started to put on a mask that said The Desperados. That is when I started putting two and two together and it did not equal what I wanted. I called your older brother and told him all I saw and he told me all about your brother being the gang’s leader. That is how David could pretend to be the leader so well.”’

‘All of a sudden a gun went off and I saw the face of a smiling Charles. “Tie them up” He said “Excellent deduction Sherlock Matthew but I think it wasn’t good enough.” “Is that so?” Said I “Look outside.” When he looked outside his smile turned into a frown. He was frowning because the parts of his gang who were outside were being put into police cars and a bunch of police officers were coming inside. Charles and his men gave up without a fight because they were outnumbered. “I will get you for this Detective.” Said Charles. “Officer, I suggest you look in his pockets for a twice Stolen diamond.” Said I. The Officer looked through the pockets and said “ello ello. This diamond belongs to my brother who lives on the other side of the world.” “Officer it was first stolen by Mr Barcley who is right here then it was stolen by his son who you have right next to you” I said. “Good work, Matthew but how did you do it?” Asher Asked. “Elementary dear Asher '' Said I “It was pretty easy after I saw that diamond on a news report from a different country.” and that was the story on how I found a diamond that was missing and caught sixteen crooks at the same time.’
