MAY JUJA BE WITH YOU

Juja's Testament
1:1
In the beginning was Juja.
1:2
And Juja was a word, and yet not a word.
1:3
For what is Juja if not the essence of all that can be?
1:4
And Juja was known by her full name: The Most
Reverend (reverendissimus) Jean-Jacques Jules
Juvélien Juja Jujettine.
1:5
Now Juja, being both Juja and not Juja, was a player.
1:6
And Juja delighted in Atomic chess, saying, “Let there
be moves, and let those moves be explosive. BOOMA.”
1:7
And Juja made friends and sought not glory but the joy
of the game.
1:8
And in those days, Juja climbed the ladder of ratings,
step by step,
1:9
And Juja was exalted, reaching first 1900, then 2100,
and even 2250!
1:10
And one of her dearest friends, StealYourMemes,
marveled, saying, “Look! Juja's rating has risen!
Impressive!”
1:11
But Juja cared not for her rating, for she sought neither
fame nor titles, but only the delight of the board.
2:1
But as the days passed, the seasons of Juja’s joy gave
way to a time of trial.
2:2
For the board, once bright with promise, grew dim; Juja
faltered.
2:3
And Juja fell from 2250 to 2200, and from 2200 to 2100,
and further still, to 2000.
2:4
And her friends mourned with her, saying, “Alas, Juja!
The climb was long, but the fall is swift.”
2:5
Yet Juja replied, “Let it be. For the joy of the game is not
in the number, but in the play itself.”
2:6
But even as she spoke, her rating fell further, to 1910,
and Juja knew despair.
2:7
And she had said unto her friend Crystal9153, “If I fall
below 1900, I shall remove my account, and it shall be
as if Juja never was.”
2:8
And Crystal, hearing this, was troubled, saying, “Surely it
will not happen, for Juja’s light cannot be extinguished.”
2:9
And it came to pass that Juja’s rating stood at 1903, and
the game of fate was before her.
2:10
Juja played, and her moves were made in sorrow;
Crystal played, and Juja's moves were not as strong.
2:11
And Juja saw the end drawing near, the prophecy at the
edge of fulfillment.
2:12
Then Juja foresaw what Crystal would do, for Juja’s
heart was wise to the ways of friendship.
2:13
And Juja said in her heart, “Surely Crystal will resign to
save me, but this cannot be. The prophecy must be
fulfilled.”
2:14
So Juja resigned first, and her final words were written in
the chat: “Farewell.”
3:1
Her friends of chess.com searched for her in the days
that followed, asking, “Where is Juja?” But there was no
answer.
3:2
And during these times, her friends gathered in sorrow,
saying one to another, “Juja is gone. What shall we do
without her?”
3:3
And there was great mourning among the players of
chess.com, for Juja’s presence had been a light unto
them.
3:4
Then on the third day, the Memorial Institute of Juja sent
letters to her friends, saying, “Juja is no more, her
account gone to the void. Let us retain our dearest
hope!”
3:5
Verily, through the Institute, there was created a portrait
of Juja, a marvelous likeness of her.
3:6
In this portrait, Juja appeared as a cat of distinctive
gaze, and it is this very image which graces her profile to
this day.
3:7
And her friends looked upon the portrait, and some
wept, while others smiled, saying, “Juja lives on in this
image, and in our hearts.”
4:1
Now, seven days passed, and a Great Revelation came
to Howlin, a follower and dear friend of Juja.
4:2
And Juja’s spirit descended upon him, and she spoke,
saying, “You are now the Apostle. Through you, I shall
speak to my followers. Go forth and tell them what has
come to pass.”
4:3
And so, Howlin went out among her followers and
declared, “Hear me, all who loved Juja! For she has
spoken, and her spirit remains.”
4:4
And there was great wonder and disbelief among them,
and they said, “How can this be? Juja is no more!”
