GUIDELINES FOR INTER DEPARTMENT SPORTS (CHESS M&W) 2024-25

• Each department is allowed only one team each for the men’s and the women’s team.
• Men’s team should consists of 5 players and the women’s team consists of 4 players.
• Only the top 4 player’s performances shall count towards the team’s performance, while it is top 3 for the girls.
• Both men’s and women’s tournaments will be held separately.
• The chess event shall be held online (Lichess) over 2 days- December 14 th and 15 th(8-9 pm).
• The first day will have a 3+2 arena tournament and the second day will have 5+3
arena tournament.
• The weightage of the entire tournament will be 2:3, i.e, 2X score of 3+2 arena and 3X the score of 5+3 arena.
• A separate award will be allotted for the best player of the tournament, considering both day’s rankings.
• Standard Lichess rules apply, and any player found to be cheating will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire team. Department captains are requested to ensure none of their team members indulge in cheating.
• ⁠results will be announced only after fairplay check
• The decision of the organisers shall be final and binding.
